Many women, not satisfied with the variety of choices they find in regards to engagement rings are asking themselves, "how can I design my own engagement ring?"

Technology has made everything easier these days and it has brought the idea of the engagement ring into the new century.  It used to be that almost everyone bought whatever engagement ring designs were on display at the jewelry store because in order to design your own engagement ring you either needed to be an artist yourself or pay to have an artist help you design your own engagement ring.

They may, in fact, have their own custom ring design software which they will use to work with you to design and create the perfect engagement ring for you. Working this way, you also have the advantage of receiving instant feedback regarding the cost of certain ring modifications or materials that you want. A good jeweler can bring almost any quality image to life as long as it is something they can work with and it is much easier to make changes to a quality image than it is to something that is difficult to understand.

But, custom made engagement rings can be extremely expensive.  But one advantage today is that with computers and design software you can take over the design of your engagement ring and control those costs. Many of the modern software programs will not only let you design the ring, they will also play it back in 3D form so you can gauge much better if it's a design you like. So you aren't forced to commit to a design only to find out later that you really don't like that design.

A favorite tact of many people that design their own engagement rings is to look through a lot of different engagement rings taking the features they like from each ring and combine them into one composite that represents their perfect engagement ring.
