Unusual Engagement Rings

Unusual engagement rings and wedding rings do manage to grab the attention of onlookers. No doubt, that's why some me, in an effort to make their engagement event something out of the ordinary, look at buying or creating an unusual engagement ring.  And, as long as it's not too outside of the mainstream, your girlfriend may find it just fine.

Sometimes the most unusual engagement rings are the ones that are handed down from generation to generation that were never meant to be used as an engagement ring but wound up that way anyways.  I know of a couple who used the groom's great grandmother's pearl ring as an unusual engagement ring and they plan on passing it down to their kids as well.  Maybe that was not so much an unusual engagement ring as it was just not such a traditional one.  But there have been some unusual ones in the past.

Other times, the heart may be in the right place but practicality is ignored. For example, I have seen mechanics create unusual engagement rings out of various auto parts. It's hard to imagine most women being please with wearing a replica of tire wheel around her fingers. On the other hand, some musicians have been known to make unique engagement rings out of musical instrument parts and so on.  Sure, unusual wedding and engagement rings are nice and show that you but some thought into it, but if a girl is expecting the traditional diamond on a ring mount and you bust out an auto part fashioned into a ring then you may be in for the let down of your life.  ... Celebrities, of course, are a completely different kettle of fish.  For example, Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson tattooed their wedding bands to their fingers.  and God only knows what they used for an unusual engagement ring.  Jessica Simpson received a unusual pear shaped engagement ring set in platinum with stones on the side. In fact, if you see a really unusual engagement ring that you both love, you might even consider having a replica of it made for your own engagement ring

It would probably help to understand what the key components to any engagement rings are whether they are unusual engagement rings or not. Most times when women refer to getting an engagement ring they refer to it as waiting for the diamond.  After they have received the engagement ring it will forever be referred to as the diamond or the rock on my finger.  The diamonds can be fancy colored diamonds or princess cut diamonds, which are becoming more popular. But, if you are planning on giving an engagement ring, no matter how unusual it is,  and it does not have a diamond on it then it's probably best not to even bother.
